A housecert is a live musical performance given in someone's home. In comparison with a musical performance in a concert hall, a house concert is a much more intimate experience. You can speak with the musician before and after the performance, and sit close enough to really see and hear how they play. In comparison to a performance in a bar, you can focus completely on the music, without all the distractions of people ordering food, talking, smoking, etc. There are always nice people to talk with during the intermission, and the hosts usually have drinks and light snacks for the guests. Musicians appreciate having an attentive audience and they often spend the night in the home of their hosts, as part of a musical tour through an area. At some house concerts, guests are expected to make reservations and pay a fixed price for their seat. Other house concerts are more informal. Historische instrumenten avond met Gesto Antico strijktrio

Gesto Antico is een gevarieerde en historisch geinformeerde groep muzikanten die muziek spelen van het barok tijdperk tot de vroeg romantische periode. De kern van het ensemble bestaat uit drie muzikanten: Judith Verona (viool) uit Spanje ,Femke Huizinga (altviool) uit Nederland, en Anita Gluyas (cello) uit Australie. In de laatste drie jaar hebben zij veel in Nederland opgetreden, met onder andere concerten in het Koninklijk Paleis het Loo in Apeldoorn, de jaarlijkse concerten in het Witte Kerkje in Maassluis en in concerten voor het Oude Muziek Festival in Utrecht in 2011.

De individuele leden van Gesto Antico zijn heel actief als freelance muzikanten en maken geregeld deel uit van groepen zoals Concerto d’Amsterdam, Concerto Barrocco, European Union Baroque Orchestra, het Bach Orchestra of The Netherlands, de Nieuwe Philarmonie Utrecht en Forma Antiqva. De leden van Gesto Antico zijn ook de oprichters en sectie leiders van het Arcade Ensemble, een jong barok orkest in Nederland.

Gesto Antico heeft een levendige, integere en energetische manier van spelen en richt zich er op een sterke verbinding tussen het publiek en de muzikant te bewerkstelligen zoals dit alleen in het moment van een live optreden te vinden is.

In de nabije toekomst zullen zij ook te horen zijn tijdens concert series in Europa en doen daarbij landen als Spanje, Frankrijk, Nederland en Belgie aan.
